Meet Inga Strūmke!
Inga is an associate professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. With a main research focus on explainable AI, Inga argues that using AI for good is closely linked to both understanding AI well, but also knowing ourselves and our needs, including legal perspectives. She has previously worked on trustworthy AI and algorithm auditing at PwC.
She was awarded name of the year in academia and received the Norwegian Research Council's outreach prize in 2023. Her book Maskiner som tenker (Machines that think) was the most sold non-fiction book in Norway in 2023, and was awarded the Norwegian literature prize ``Brageprisen'' in the non-fiction category, and is currently translated to Swedish, Danish, German and Japanese. Previously, Inga received the University of Bergen’s outreach prize in 2019, and was awarded “ One of Norway's 50 leading women in tech 2020. She is an international keynote speaker, podcast host at the Norwegian Council for Digital Ethics
Meet Craig Gent!
Researcher, editor and author of the book: "Cyberboss: The Rise of Algorithmic Management and the New Struggle for Control at Work" (Verso Books).
As a researcher he specialise in the social, political and ethical consequences of the application of digital technology to work, broadly within the coordinates of critical algorithm studies. Craig is especially interested in the role of technology in rearranging power within the workplace and beyond, and the nature of algorithmic/interface power and authority at work.

Choose between joining a workshop on regulation or a workshop on collective bargaining.

Workshop 1 - Regulation of AI.
Experts:

    The workshop will be a mix of short presentations, group-discussions. It will be run by Project Manager Raymond Kristiansen, NITO.
Workshop 2 - Collective Bargaining.
Experts:
  • Pål Behrens, Head of Legal and negotiation, Lawyer (H) at Finansforbundet and Marlene Rix, Negotiation trainer and advisor.
  • Victor Bernhardtz, AI-expert, Unionen.
  • Malene Rix has worked for more than 25 years in the field of negotiation and process facilitation, teaching constructive techniques to a wide range of clients from both the private and the public sector in Denmark and internationally. Her focus is on integrative negotiation and helping clients achieve mutual gains agreements, particularly in the labour market.

    The workshop will be a mix of short presentations, group-discussions and feedback with concrete advice and recommendations on how to proceed. It will be run by Negotiation Expert Malene Rix and Dr Christina Colclough. Christina is an expert on AI in the workplace and a thought leader on the Future of Work and digitalization of workplaces, The Why Not Lab.

Come to this workshop to discuss and strategize around collective bargaining negotiations related to the digitalisation of work. Hosted by Negotiation Expert Malene Rix and Dr Christina Colclough, we will talk about the do’s and don’ts in negotiations where the lack of information, insecurity about next steps and consequences, as well as different levels of knowledge and information make these negotiations difficult. At stake is the trust between management and union representatives.
